How We Treat a Herniated Disc

What is a Herniated Disc?

A herniated disc, also known as a slipped or ruptured disc, occurs when the soft inner gel of a spinal disc pushes through its outer layer. This can irritate nearby nerves, causing pain, numbness, and weakness. Herniated discs commonly occur in the neck (cervical spine) or lower back (lumbar spine) and may result from aging, injury, or repetitive strain.
